The Charmed Ones are a prophesied sisterhood (later brotherhood) of three (later four) witches who descend from the Warren line of witches. They are known as the most powerful witches ever to walk the Earth and are dedicated to protecting the innocent and ridding the world of evil.

Each Charmed One has one specific power inherited from their ancestor, Melinda Warren; the prophecy states that the eldest can move things with her mind, the middle sister can freeze time, and the youngest can see into the future.

The magical bond between these sisters is known as The Power of Three and is said to be the strongest form of magic in the world. It is represented by the ancient symbol called the Triquetra.

Although the prophecy speaks only of three sisters, there is a fourth one. After the death of Prue on May 17th, 2001, the Power of Three was temporarily broken before the Halliwells' long-lost half-sister, Paige, was revealed. She received her powers and joined Piper and Phoebe, taking Prue's place in the Power of Three and reconstituting the Charmed Ones.

In 2027, a new set of Charmed Ones are born: P.J., Parker, and Peyton Halliwell become charmed. In 2051, the next set of P.J., Parker, and Peyton's children are the next four brothers: Paul, Peter, Philip, and Preston. They have the Power of Four, meaning they must protect future innocents and occasionally save the world again.

Alternate Timelines

Alternate Future 2037

In this alternate future, the power of three was temporarily broken before the Halliwells' long-lost half-sister, Philippa, was revealed. She received her powers and joined Parker and Peyton, taking P.J.'s place in the Power of Three and reconstituting the Charmed Ones. However, this timeline got erased when past selves P.J., Parker, and Peyton traveled back in time and prevented P.J.'s death. 

Dark Future 2061

In this dark timeline, P.J. and Peyton were both killed by the Source for long time ago, but Parker survived with her daughter and some of her family members survived as well however power of three was broken, and Tamora became evil after her parents and twin sister were killed by the Source. Mel decided to send her daughter, Charlene, and her niece Jo back in time to save their future and warn their past selves.
